This is a well-known invitation hymn by American Methodist minister and gospel song writer Lewis Hartsough (1828–1919). It first appeared in the 1872 collection “The Revivalist” which Hartsough helped edit; he is also credited with both words and the tune “Come, Sinner, Come.” No credible alternate attributions exist.
